Adrian is originally from Anglesey and is a fluent welsh speaker, as a second language.
On leaving school Adrian joined the Army as a Military Accountant, leaving the Army in 1985. From leaving the Army he worked for various companies as a Management Accountant. In 1991 he had a career change and in January 1992 began training as a Mental Health Nurse, since qualifying he has worked in Adult Acute, Psychiatric Intensive Care, Youth Offending Services, and Child and Adolescent Mental Health, in primary, secondary and tertiary care. Adrian is currently working with Alder Hey Community Developmental Paediatrics as Specialist Practitioner for ADHD & ASD. He also works as a Consultant for Adult ADHD privately.
He has pursued qualifications as a Counsellor and Psychotherapist and holds a Master’s Degree of Education in this, and is also an EMDR Therapist, 3Di Autistic Spectrum Assessor, and Independent Non Medical Prescriber. Adrian has had research published and also articles on ADHD and Attachment Disorder. Spoken at many conferences and events both home and abroad and chaired a European Mental Health Nurses Conference. He has responded through the Royal College of Nursing on a number of NICE Guidelines including ADHD and ASD.
