Dr Kirsten Ellis trained as a medical doctor at the University of Cape Town, and worked for 2 years in a variety of physical health specialities following her graduation in 1997. She came to the United Kingdom in 2000, and commenced training in Psychiatry at the Royal Free and associated hospitals training scheme (London) in 2001. She qualified as a Consultant Psychiatrist in 2010, with an accreditation in Rehabilitation Psychiatry.
She has worked in a substantive Consultant role within a busy community mental health team in inner-city London since 2012. She has a range of skills and experience that enable her to manage unipolar and bipolar mood disorders, anxiety spectrum disorders (including OCD) and psychotic disorders. Her specialist interests include Eating Disorders, personality disorders and adult ADHD. She currently works in Tower Hamlets in London.
