Dr Altman is a Consultant in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. She trained in medicine at CEMIC University in Buenos Aires, Argentina, graduating in 2008. She moved to the UK in 2009 and completed her core psychiatry training at Surrey and Borders Partnership NHS Foundation Trust. Following this, she completed her specialist training to become a Consultant in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust.
Dr Altman has significant experience working with children and young people with anxiety, depression, ADHD, autism spectrum disorder (ASD), learning disabilities, specific learning difficulties, behavioral difficulties and eating disorders.
Dr Altman is passionate about working holistically with children, young people, their families and careers. She has a special interest in ADHD and ASD and has delivered parenting training programs for families with children with these difficulties.
Dr Altman has experience working in a broad range of settings and specialist teams within Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS). She uses an evidence based approach to help children, young people and their families manage and overcome their difficulties.
Dr Altman has delivered teaching and presented at conferences in the UK, Argentina and in the USA, including presenting at the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
Dr Altman delivers comprehensive psychiatry assessments both in English and Spanish.
