Dr Sambhi is a Consultant General Adult Psychiatrist with more than 25 years of experience of working in the field of psychiatry. Dr Sambhi is a member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists (MRCPsych) with Certificate of Completion of training (CCT) in General Adult Psychiatry in UK. Dr Sambhi has got post graduate qualification (MD) in Psychiatry after having qualified as a psychiatrist in India as well. He is an Approved Clinician as well as Sec 12(2) Approved psychiatrist under the Mental Health Act in UK with having expertise of assessment, diagnosis and management of full range of mental health conditions in adult psychiatry.
Dr Sambhi has a vast experience of acute inpatient general adult psychiatry as well as community adult psychiatry having worked as a consultant for Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit in the UK as well as working for the local Home treatment teams. He regularly works as part of the multidisciplinary teams in a biopsychosocial way. Dr Sambhi has worked in Forensic psychiatry as a registrar as well as a consultant psychiatrist. He has significant experience of working in prison psychiatry throughout the country.
Dr Sambhi regularly writes Court Reports for criminal and civil litigations as well as reports for Mental Health Review Tribunal hearings for the purpose of Mental Health Act.
Dr Sambhi has a significant experience in diagnosis and treatment of full range of psychiatric conditions in the adult age range i.e. conditions such as ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Anxiety disorders, Depressive disorders, Adjustment disorders, Bipolar affective disorders and psychotic disorders. With experience of working as a psychiatrist in India and in UK, Dr Sambhi has good experience in transcultural psychiatry, psychiatry in public sector setting as well as in private sector.
Dr Sambhi has published on ADHD and Psychosis and has attended training events to keep himself up to date regarding ADHD. He has got several other international journal publications in reputed psychiatric journals with his area of interest being the clinical relevance of findings in trials of antipsychotic medications, trials of CBT as well as rTMS. Dr Sambhi has held roles as a trainer for post graduate psychiatric training for training junior doctors in psychiatry in the UK.
