I am a consultant psychiatrist in general adult. I acquired my certificate of completion of training on 3rd of March 2024. I completed my core and higher training in general adult psychiatry at Essex Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust. Prior to becoming a psychiatrist, I trained and worked as an Orthopaedics and Traumatology surgeon in Turkey and North Cyprus.
I have been working for NHS, including my training, for twelve years. Currently working as a consultant psychiatrist in community services in NHS.
I am a psychodynamic oriented psychiatrist. I have seen clients (in Turkish and English) for psychodynamic psychotherapy under supervision.
I am adept at assessing and treating mental health problems which are experienced in adults of working age, but especially:
ADHD
Bipolar Disorder
Depressive Disorders
Anxiety Disorders (including OCD and PTSD)
Psychosis and Schizophrenia
Personality disorders
Premenstrual syndrome(PMS) and premenstrual dysphoric
disorder(PMDD)
Substance misuse disorders.
I am interested in functional medicine and improving my knowledge on the interface between psychiatry and functional medicine such as how nutrition and hormones affect our mental health. I believe polyvagal theory can help us understand some mental health conditions and can help us regain our mental health.
