Thank you for taking the first step

Please read any relevant section(s) below before booking…

If so, are you aware that you may be able to receive a free assessment and subsequent treatment if you live in England under your Right To Choose?  Please read our ‘Right To Choose‘ page for more information.

Please note we do not prioritise private patients over RTC and NHS-contract patients. The fees we charge to the NHS are the same as our private patient fees and we therefore have no grounds to treat people differently. We aim to have minimal waiting lists for assessment and treatment and we are recruiting actively to eliminate waiting lists as quickly as possible.

Our current wait time for an appointment is approximately 6 months. However, we are sometimes able to offer earlier appointments in the event of cancellations.

It is advisable to check the waiting time for your local ADHD services so that you can make an informed choice before booking an appointment.

Only our ADHD psychiatrists are able to perform ADHD assessments. If you book an alternative assessment in the hope of receiving an earlier appointment for an ADHD assessment, you will find the consultant is unable to help you when you meet. We will be unable to offer you a full refund under these circumstances.

Please accept our sincere apologies for the delays which have arisen due to the popularity of our service. We are doing everything we can to ensure that people are seen as soon as possible.

Waiting list update: We will be contacting referred patients who are waiting to be offered an appointment in the very near future. Please keep an eye on your inbox and expect a phone call from this number: 0330 124 1980. In the interest of fairness, we are contacting people in date order from the time that we received your referral.

In the majority of cases, adult clients will need a full one hour assessment, this will include your psychiatrist giving you a formal diagnosis, where indicated, with a written opinion or assessment letter and suggested treatment plan at a cost of £360.00.

As a result of your consultation there may be additional fees, including any costs for prescribing medication. This will be agreed between you and the psychiatrist at the time of assessment along with any extra time spent in the consultation if the meeting runs over one hour.

You will receive an electronic copy of your assessment letter via the patient portal which you will be able to download. A postal copy is available on request.

Please see our Schedule of Fees for more information, or call us on 0330 124 1980 to discuss.

Our service is available for children and young people between the ages of 7-18.

Please ensure you have read about our available services for children before booking.

You have a choice of options:

  • To book a child ADHD assessment, select ‘Child ADHD/ADD’ on the booking form
  • To book a generic child assessment select ‘Children and Adolescents’ on the booking form

Please see our Schedule of Fees for more information before you book.

If you are a returning patient, please DO NOT use this booking form but call us on 0330 124 1980 during office hours and our admin team can arrange your follow up appointment.

If you have a health insurer, please contact us on 0330 124 1980 to arrange your appointment.

Please note that if a booking is interrupted, the system may still store the information you have supplied. We routinely check for incomplete bookings and contact users to check if they would like to complete their booking.  If there is no response to our contact attempts or you request it, your information will be deleted from Psychiatry-UK within 14 working days.

For patients seeking an ADHD assessment: please ensure you have read the information above before proceeding with booking a self-funded appointment.

NOTE: Due to the very rapid increase in the number of referrals we are receiving since ‘Right to Choose’ was brought to our attention, we have had to introduce a waiting list for people needing titration of medication for ADHD.

We are actively recruiting new staff and aim to return to our normal service as quickly as possible. Please accept our apologies for the delay this may introduce to your treatment. We thank you for your understanding.

Please note that we treat all of our patients whether NHS, Right To Choose (RTC) or privately funded the same. You can read more about your potential eligibility and how to apply for RTC funding here.
