Dr Robin Wilson is a General Adult Consultant Psychiatrist with 18 years of experience in psychiatry from South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust. He has a strong clinical-academic background, specialising in general adult psychiatry, substance use and rehabilitation psychiatry. He is driven by a commitment to evidence-based patient care, innovation and research. Dr Wilson graduated from University College London Medical School in 2004 achieving an intercalated BSc(hons) in psychology in 2001. He trained in psychiatry on the Maudsley Hospital rotation from 2007 to 2013 achieving Membership of the Royal College of Psychiatrists in 2010. He worked as a clinical research fellow at the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology and Neuroscience from 2013 to 2021 researching the interaction between psychosis and cannabinoids. During this period, he won several grant awards including the MRC Confidence in Concept (2015), the NIHR Clinical Research Network Clinician Fund (2019) and the NIHR Greenshoots Award (2020). He achieved an MD(res) in Psychological Medicine in 2020, defending his thesis ‘Motivational salience, the clinical high-risk state for psychosis and acute modulation by cannabidiol’.
