Dr Fragkos is a Consultant General Adult Psychiatrist based at NHS Mental Health Services in Leeds, UK. He is an Approved Clinician and medical trainer for foundation doctors, core and higher trainees in psychiatry, and clinical supervisor for non-medic prescribers.
He has a long experience in assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of mental health conditions such as:
- Depression
- Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD)
- Anxiety and panic disorder
- Psychosis
- Bipolar disorder
- Neurodevelopmental disorders (ADHD)
His clinical approach is patient-centred, evidence-based and focuses on providing holistic care. He has been involved in various research, audit and quality improvement projects.
Dr Fragkos obtained his primary qualification in medicine and completed a Master in Liaison Psychiatry (MSc) with Distinction at University of Athens. During his training, he was appointed an honorary contract as a Clinical Fellow at the Mother and Baby Unit in Leeds. After the completion of his training in Greece, he joined the specialist register and moved to the UK to continue his career in Psychiatry, working in community-based mental health services (CMHT, home-based treatment team) for the last eight years.
His special interests include psychopharmacology in working age adults, perinatal psychiatry (external speaker in MSc in Addictology for perinatal addictions in Athens School of Medicine) and ADHD in adulthood.
Dr Fragkos is an accredited Balint Group leader, and the current president of the Hellenic Balint Society.
