GMC No. 7050537
I completed my higher speciality training in August 2022 and began working as a consultant psychiatrist. I have over eight years of experience in various areas of psychiatry, including general adult psychiatry, geriatric psychiatry, intellectual disability, and crisis and liaison services.
My areas of special interest are ADHD, autism, and sleep disorders, while my research focuses on neurodegenerative disorders.
I prioritise patient-centred care and strive to understand patients’ experiences, challenges, and strengths from their perspective. I believe in the uniqueness of every individual; as humans, we don’t always adhere strictly to books and guidelines. Therefore, providing patient-centred care is a primary goal for me.
My publications:
1) Malik, N., Miah, MU., Galgani, A. et al. Regional AT-8 reactive tau species correlate with intracellular Aβ levels in cases of low AD neuropathologic change. Acta Neuropathol 147, 40 (2024).
2) Farooq, H. and Malik, N. (2024), Improvement of Visual Hallucinations With Donepezil in Charles Bonnet Syndrome Secondary to Vascular Pathology. Progress in Neurology and Psychiatry, 28: e12015.
