Friends and Family Test (FFT)

The NHS Friends and Family Test was created to help providers that offer services on behalf of the NHS to understand whether patients are happy with their service, and indicate where improvements are needed.

After completing an assessment with Psychiatry UK, a survey form will pop up on your portal, asking you to complete a short questionnaire. This form gives our patients a voice to let us know the quality of their experience.

You do not need to give your name, and your feedback will remain anonymous. Your answer will not be traced back to you, and your details will not be passed on to anyone.

Filling out the FFT form

The form is extremely simple and very quick to complete.

You will be asked to rate your experience overall on a scale from ‘very good’ to ‘very poor’. You will have the opportunity to explain this score by adding comments.

How is this information used?

The feedback submitted through the FFT is collected daily, recorded and discussed with the appropriate teams.

The majority of our patient feedback is excellent, and this is shared with our teams to celebrate good practice. It lets our staff know that their efforts are appreciated.

If small changes are required – for example, to our communications processes – that could make a big difference to our patients’ experience, these are addressed immediately.

If the need for more significant improvement is identified, this is fed into an ongoing improvement system, with project teams working to implement continuous change.

So put us to the test and tell us what you think.

This survey is not your only opportunity to give your feedback. There is an option on your portal to provide comments, insights or suggestions at any time during your journey through Psychiatry UK.
