Dr Papachronopoulou qualified as a doctor from the University of Patras, Greece in 1999.
She continued her training in General Medicine, Neurology and eventually General Adult Psychiatry in training positions both in the UK and Greece. She completed her speciality training in 2010 and since then she has been practising as a Psychiatrist both in private practice and since 2017 in the NHS.
She is currently working as a Consultant Psychiatrist in a busy Community Mental Health Team within the NHS. Her role is the assessment and management of a variety of complex mental health conditions such as severe depressive disorder, Anxiety Disorders including OCD and PTSD, Bipolar Disorder, Psychotic Disorders, Personality Disorders, ASD and ADHD. She is a S12 and AC Approved Clinician and she is also an Appraiser and a Clinical Educator and Supervisor for medical students and Core and Speciality Psychiatric Trainees.
She is a trained CBT Therapist and has a personal interest in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy and Cognitive Analytical Therapy.
She is a compassionate and experienced clinician and believes in the therapeutic alliance between herself and her patients, she works collaboratively with them and believes in an evidence based but also person centred approach.
