I am a Consultant Psychiatrist with more than 20 years experience in Psychiatry, working within the NHS and with PUK.
I completed MBBS and MD in Psychiatry from India and moved to UK in 2016. I pursued Psychiatry within the NHS and have an MRCPsych degree. I completed training at South West London and St. George’s NHS Mental Health Trust and have a Certificate of Completion in Training in General Adult Psychiatry with an endorsement in Liaison Psychiatry.
I have Approved Clinician status, am section 12 approved, on the GMC Specialist Register and a Member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists. I am a certified OSCE examiner and have successfully completed foundation in Systemic Practise therapy and am experienced in delivering Family Intervention for first episode psychosis.
I trained in various psychiatric subspecialties like Child and Adolescent, National OCD unit, Old Age, dementia specialist unit, the forensic ward and have specialist knowledge, interest skill and experience in:
- Diagnosing and managing ADHD
- EIS (Early Intervention Services – Psychosis and BPAD)
- Perinatal psychiatry
- Substance Use Disorders
I keep up to date with latest research and treatment protocols whilst supervising and teaching current trainees and medical students.
Throughout my career, I worked across different countries different healthcare systems, with people from a variety of socio-economic, cultural and religious backgrounds and speak three languages fluently – English, Telugu and Hindi.
I believe in equality in diversity and working alongside my clients and patients to create a wholistic biopsychosocial modelled care plan which looks at lifestyle factors in addition to medication and other treatment approaches for body and mind.
