Dr Leslie is an experienced General Adult Consultant Psychiatrist with a background in public health and research. She completed her medical degree at St. George’s University, London in 2006 and undertook specialist training in Psychiatry on the South-West London/St. George’s and Bart’s/Royal London training schemes.

Dr Leslie became interested in neurodivergence whilst working in a personality disorder service where it became apparent to her that there is a great deal of overlap between how the two present. To develop her skills she completed the UKAAN training in diagnosis and treatment of ADHD.

This interest developed further through Dr Leslie’s lived experience of having family members and friends be identified as neurodivergent. Though there is more progress to be made, she believes that we are living in a hopeful time and she is excited to be a part of contributing to neuroaffirmative practice.

Patients understandably feel some anxiety when seeking help and Dr Leslie seeks to provide a reassuring space by being open and straightforward, by sharing her thinking, and doing what she has said she will do.

Dr Leslie has felt humbled by the trust patients have placed in her by sharing their stories and drawn great satisfaction from being able to develop a shared understanding with her patients to improve their mental health.
