Whether you’ve spent years wondering why everyday tasks seem harder than they should, or you already suspect ADHD and want a professional assessment, we’re here to help you better understand your experiences and provide a diagnosis if appropriate.

Is a Private ADHD Assessment Right for You?
If you’ve been struggling with focus, organisation, or a sense of overwhelm that doesn’t seem to match what others around your experience, you’re not alone. Many adults reach midlife without ever being assessed for ADHD, often because their symptoms didn’t fit because their symptoms were less obvious or presented differently from the way ADHD was traditionally recognised.
This private, self-pay service is designed for adults aged 18 and over who want a thorough clinical assessment without the wait times associated with NHS referral pathways. You don’t need a GP referral to access this service – you can self-refer for an ADHD assessment and book directly online.
This assessment could be right for you if…
- You want to avoid long NHS waiting lists or GP referral delays.
- You'd prefer a flexible, online assessment that you can attend from home with a Consultant Psychiatrist.
- You’d like to better understand your experiences and whether ADHD may explain them.
- You'd rather self-refer, without needing to see a GP first.
- You've noticed patterns affecting your work, relationships or daily life.
- You want a comprehensive written report to share with your GP, employer, or other professionals if you choose.

Assessed by Experienced Consultant Psychiatrists
ADHD presents differently in every adult and our Consultant Psychiatrists are experienced in recognising ADHD across its full range of presentations.
Common Signs of Adult ADHD
ADHD in adults can show up as:
- Difficulty focusing, or focusing intensely on some things while struggling to start or finish others.
- Losing track of time, deadlines, or belongings.
- Restlessness, or a constant sense of mental 'busyness'.
- Disorganisation, finding it difficult to plan, prioritise or manage day-to-day tasks.
- Impulsive decisions, spending or speech.
- Emotional responses that may feel difficult to manage.
- Feeling chronically overwhelmed, exhausted, or 'behind', even when working hard to keep up.
These signs aren’t exclusive to ADHD. They can also overlap with anxiety, depression, sleep difficulties or everyday stress, which is why a comprehensive clinical assessment is important.
Symptoms can also present differently depending on the person. Women are more likely to present with predominantly inattentive symptoms than obvious hyperactivity and often mask this through over-preparing, perfectionism or simply pushing through. This is a key reason woman are, on average, diagnosed with ADHD later in life than men and are more likely to be misdiagnosed with anxiety or depression first. Our Consultant Psychiatrists have experience recognising these different presentations of ADHD in adults.
If any of this sounds familiar, an assessment can help you better understand your experiences and provide a diagnosis if appropriate.
