Our Right to Choose and Private Services Are Open to Support You

You may have seen reports that some specialist ADHD services are pausing or closing their waiting lists due to high demand.

We want to reassure you that our waiting list is still open, and we continue to accept Right to Choose referrals for ADHD and autism assessment/treatment.

Please note that waiting times can vary across different areas of England, depending on local NHS funding availability for the remainder of this financial year (until 31 March 2026). Please check our waiting times page for any updates.

Our private assessment and treatment services for both ADHD and autism are also available and these self-funded options may suit those who prefer or require a faster route to care. You can find more information about our private services here.

We remain committed to providing timely, high-quality ADHD and autism care for all our patients.

Urgent Medical Assistance Needed?

Psychiatry UK is an online service only and therefore is not able to offer an emergency service. Please refer to our advice on how to get assistance.

Existing Patient Enquiry?

We’re making some changes to the way patients can communicate with us to ensure faster response times than our current note system can provide. We’ve doubled our investment in our Live Chat service, increasing our customer support team and making staff from wider teams available to answer patient-related queries.

What will this mean?

Currently, patients can raise a query via a note on the patient portal. The changes we are introducing will mean:

  • All patients will be able to reply to notes left by their doctor, or members of our administrative or nursing teams, but they will not be able to create a new note without being prompted.
  • Patients in active titration (or paused) will still be able to raise new notes to their prescriber.
  • Patients whose prescriber has granted continued contact will also be allowed to write new notes to their prescriber.
  • The note system will remain unchanged for private patients and families registered with our Child & Adolescent service.
  • Patients at the end of titration, whose GP has declined Shared Care, will continue to be able to request new prescriptions via the portal.

If you are unsure how the changes will affect you, or you have any other queries, please get in touch with our customer support team via Live Chat or our telephone support line during opening hours (Mon-Fri 8am-6pm).
