Dr Aman has been working for the NHS as a Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist since 2013, having completed his specialist CCT (Certificate of Completion of Training) from Newcastle-upon-Tyne. He also has a post graduate qualification in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy from Newcastle University.

He is described as a warm, approachable and skilled clinician, who understands the importance of developing positive relationships with you and your child and takes time to listen carefully to all points of view.

Dr Aman offers assessments and recommended evidence-based treatments for a wide range of conditions, including:

  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Bipolar affective disorder
  • Obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD)
  • Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD)
  • Autism spectrum disorder (ASD)
  • Tourette’s syndrome

He has a special interest in neurodevelopmental conditions, the way they can present differently in girls and boys, and co-occurring conditions such as anxiety and depression.

He has additional training in the use of ADOS (Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule) and ADI (Autism Diagnostic Interview).

He is passionate about research and has published in reputable international journals on the topic of learning disability and autism. He has also contributed towards an Autism chapter in the Rutter Textbook of Child Psychiatry.
