I am Consultant Psychiatrist on the Specialist Register of the GMC. I graduated from medical school in 1977, achieved many psychiatric specialist qualifications, since then I have been working as medical practitioner in different posts in different countries. This has helped me to acquire an extensive experience about cultural differences and how that affects different illnesses’ presentation. I have been working as Consultant in General Adult Psychiatry since 2001 in the NHS. I worked in community teams, Assertive outreach team and inpatient. I have been a consultant for the inpatient department for nearly 25 years. As the inpatient Consultant I led the MDT and saw a wide range of mental disorders including Bipolar Affective Disorder and other mood disorders, Schizophrenia and other types of psychotic disorders, Complex post traumatic stress disorders and other anxiety spectrum, ADHD with co-morbidity, Autism with comorbidity and different types of personality disorders. I was the medical lead of the mental health services for 12 years during which I had contributed to the service development and innovation. Now I am working with P-UK since February 2025 and specialised in assessment, diagnosis and management of neurodivergence.
