I have been working as a psychiatrist since 2010 and have been part of the Adult CMHT since 2020. Since April 2023, I have also held the role of Associate Clinical Director (ACD). As a Psychiatric Consultant, I conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments, diagnose mental health disorders, and develop individualized treatment plans in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team. I prescribe and manage psychotropic medications while monitoring their effectiveness and side effects. My role includes overseeing case management, conducting risk assessments, and providing education and consultation to patients, families, and caregivers. I am actively involved in clinical research, quality improvement initiatives, and mentoring junior clinicians. Additionally, I advocate for mental health needs within the healthcare system and the community, working closely with local organizations to improve mental health services and reduce stigma. Under the new community mental health framework, I collaborate with PCNs, attend MAT meetings, and provide expert medical reviews. I also prepare MHAA, MOJ, and tribunal reports and represent cases in legal proceedings. I have a special interest in Adult ADHD, regularly presenting symposiums and lectures globally on the subject. I am also engaged in psychedelic research, contributing to the evolving field of mental health treatment.
