Dr. Hopkins is a Consultant Psychiatrist with over twenty years of experience, specialising in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. He completed his Specialist Training on the highly regarded Maudsley training scheme in 2013 and has worked as a substantive Consultant for the last decade in a busy city CAMHS service, managing both inpatient and outpatient care.
Dr. Hopkins has a special interest in neurodevelopmental disorders such as ADHD and autism. He has conducted research and published in this area. Dr. Hopkins has served as the ADHD treatment lead for his service, supervising clinicians in their prescribing practice and providing consultation to external agencies. His extensive clinical experience also covers a wide range of other mental health issues affecting adults and young people.
Dr. Hopkins is also highly trained in therapeutic interventions, including Mentalization Based Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Family Therapy, giving him a broad skill set to address complex mental health challenges. He holds full UK General Medical Council registration, Approved Clinician (AC) status, and is Section 12(2) approved under the Mental Health Act as having special experience in the diagnosis and treatment of mental disorders.
