Dr Emma Fisher graduated from Guy’s, King’s and St. Thomas’ medical school, London in 2006. She has been working in psychiatry since 2008 and currently works part time as a Consultant Perinatal Psychiatrist in the NHS, offering advice and treatment for women planning a pregnancy, currently pregnancy or in the first year postnatally with existing or new mental illness.  She has a special interest in ADHD in women. Her other interests include psychosis, mood disorders, PMDD and personality disorders.

She holds a Postgraduate Certificate in Medical Education and has been a clinical tutor for Oxford University undergraduates and an examiner for Warwick Medical School, as well as an honorary lecturer for the Birmingham MRCPsych course. She has completed the UKAAN ADHD diagnosing and prescribing courses.

Dr Fisher is passionate about improving the teaching of communication skills in medical schools and this is evident in her own ability to put patients at ease and to always seek to fully understand her patients’ symptoms and the impact they have on daily functioning, and develops collaborative treatment plans with her patients.
