Dr Joanne Farrow is a General Adult Psychiatrist.
She studied medicine at the University of Southampton. She then trained in general adult psychiatry in London and Hertfordshire and became a Consultant Psychiatrist in 2012. She is a member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists and is also on the GMC Specialist Register for General Psychiatry. She was approved by the Secretary of State as a Section 12 doctor and has Responsible Clinician status. She has also gained a Masters in Medical Law and Ethics and a Masters in Business Administration.
She has been working as a Consultant Psychiatrist for Hertfordshire Partnership University Foundation Trust since 2012. She has extensive experience in General Adult Psychiatry in the community and inpatient settings. She is also an experienced deputy medical director and is responsible for the quality and safety of the services in Hertfordshire. She has worked in a variety of clinical setting and has experience in assessing and treating a wide range of mental health conditions and complexities including anxiety disorder, mood disorders and psychotic disorders.
She is on the executive committee of the General Adult Faculty of the Royal College of Psychiatrists.
Dr Farrow is described by her colleagues and patients as a skilled clinician, she is also very empathetic, understanding and a good listener. She works closely with her patients and families and ensures treatment decisions are made together with her patients. Dr Farrow uses a person-centered and holistic approach with her patients.
She is also committed to improving mental health services in the NHS and strives to ensure that patients and their families have the best possible care and experience.
