Dr Panagopoulou is a Consultant Psychiatrist with clinical experience of 20 years. She graduated from the Medical School of the University of Crete in 1998 and subsequently trained in Psychiatry both in the UK, under the Charing Cross Psychiatric Scheme in London and in Athens Greece, where she received her Certificate of Completion in 2006.

She also completed an MSc course in Drugs and Alcohol Policy at the Imperial College in 2006.

She completed her training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy at the University Institute of Psychiatry in Athens and was a tutor at the same CBT training program for four years.

Dr Panagopoulou worked as a Consultant Psychiatrist and Clinical Lead or Community Drugs and Alcohol Services in Athens Greece and offered treatment to patients with Dual Diagnoses.

She was the Clinical Lead for CGL in Coventry and Warwickshire (2018-2021) and Cambridgeshire (2021). In November 2021 she joined the NHS as a Consultant Psychiatrist for a new service that offers bespoke treatment to NHS staff with psychological difficulties.

She has attended various courses in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, Schema Therapy and Compassionate Focused Therapy.

She is experienced in the treatment of anxiety disorders, depression,  complex trauma, OCD, bipolar affective disorder and psychosis. Her approach is always compassionate, holistic, evidence-based and tailored to the patient’s individual needs.

Dr Panagopoulou is registered on the Specialist Register of the GMC as General Adult Psychiatrist. She is Section 12 Approved and has Approved Clinician Status.
