Qualifications: Pharmacist Independent Prescriber.

I am an independent pharmacist prescriber with over 13 years of experience. I studied at the university of Manchester and once qualified I began my career working in community pharmacy in a variety of settings across the north west. I have a huge passion for learning and completed a post graduate diploma in pharmacy at Queens university whilst working full time and taking on leadership roles for a large corporate company. Working in community pharmacy gave me first-hand experience of different mental health conditions and the day-to-day impact this has on people and their families.

The last few years of my career have been in GP practice where I currently hold the lead clinical pharmacist role for a network of GP surgeries. During my time in primary care I qualified as an independent prescriber in 2019 at UCLAN and also completed an NHS England funded clinical pharmacist in general practice qualification. I am qualified to manage a vast array of chronic disease conditions and clinical areas including mental health and my current role has lots of patient contact including remote working. Working in GP practice has given me experience in the treatment of depression, anxiety, bipolar illness, schizophrenia and ADHD. I take pride in supporting patients to gain the most out of their treatment and ensuring their medication is optimised for them. The qualities I have include that I am supportive, empathetic and approachable and with my passion for understanding and supporting people with ADHD my aim is to provide patients with a positive experience on their treatment journey.

When I am not in work my interests include travel and I have particularly enjoyed travelling across southeast Asia and Italy! I also have a British bulldog puppy who keeps me very busy.
