Hello! I’m a Consultant Psychiatrist with over 10 years’ medical experience. I specialise in General Adult Psychiatry with a subspecialty in Addictions. I have also trained as a Psychotherapist for three years.

In addition to my clinical work I am the founder and host of the Thinking Mind Podcast, a twice weekly podcast all about mental health, featuring interviews with experts all around the world.

I work with people in an individualised way, building up a careful picture of their past experiences and current difficulties. If we work together you can expect a warm and empathic approach.

I practise in a practical, solutions-focused manner and collaboratively make plans with my patients, using a number of different interventions. These could include: lifestyle advice (sleep, exercise, nutrition etc.), medication, psychological techniques and psycho-education, with actionable advice that can be utilised in-between appointments.

I enjoy having in-depth conversations with my patients about their experiences and how they could improve the quality of their lives.

Problems I could help with include:

  • Depression
  • Anxiety
  • Relationship difficulties
  • Bipolar disorder
  • Psychosis
  • Trauma
  • Stress
  • Personality difficulties
  • Alcohol and drug addiction
  • Work-related difficulties
  • Disordered eating

I’ve worked in many different environments; including therapy clinics, hospital wards and accident and emergency. As a result, I am experienced in treating a wide spectrum of problems, from common psychological issues to severe mental and physical illness.

I obtained my Medical Degree at the University of Malta and completed my psychiatric training at the South London & Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust. I have also completed three years of psychotherapy training at the Metanoia Institute in London.

Outside of my work I enjoy film, philosophy, running and weight lifting.
