Dr Eleanor Lucas is a General Adult Psychiatrist. She is on the GMC Specialist Register and is a member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists.
She is approved under Section 12(2) of the Mental Health Act by the Secretary of State as having ‘special experience in the diagnosis or treatment of mental disorder’. She also has Approved Clinician status.
She studied medicine at Southampton University and went on to train as a Psychiatrist in the local area. She became a Consultant in 2016 and worked at Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust and Solent NHS Trust.
After 24 years of working in the NHS, she has just taken up a post in the independent sector.
She has worked across many different inpatient and outpatient settings and has a wide range of experience in the diagnosis and treatment of mental health disorders, including depression, bipolar, anxiety disorders (including OCD), psychotic illnesses and personality disorder.
Dr Lucas is described by her colleagues and patients as being very empathic, person-centred and having excellent interpersonal skills.
