I completed my 3 years’ core training in Psychiatry in the East Midlands division of the UK’s psychiatry training programme, primarily in Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire.
I became a Member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists (RCPsych) in 2015 and then moved to London to finish my specialist training. I worked for 2 years in the East London NHS Foundation Trust (one of the finest NHS psychiatric care providers in the UK, with an Outstanding CQC rating) and treated severe and enduring mental disorders, as well as substance misuse disorders.
I then moved to North East London Foundation Trust (NELFT) to finish my training in General Adult Psychiatry, obtaining my CCT (certificate of completion of training) in 2018.
I took up a permanent Consultant role in North East London NHS Foundation Trust in a community team, where I worked for the next 4 years, before moving to the UAE. I have carried out in-depth assessments of patients with a wide range of mental health difficulties and devised multidisciplinary management plans, often incorporating crisis resolution teams.
I am certified by the United Kingdom Adult ADHD Network (UKAAN) for assessment and diagnosis, as well as the management of Adult ADHD.
I am 3Di trained (the 3Di was developed primarily as a screening tool to assess autistic traits among children with normal-range abilities, but it may also be used for those with moderate or severe mental retardation and has design features to facilitate their assessment).
I am also ADOS 2 Certified (Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule, 2nd Edition ADOS-2). The ADOS provides an accurate assessment and diagnosis of autism and pervasive development disorder across all ages, developmental levels and language skills.
