Dr Mima Simic is a Child & Adolescent Consultant with over 20 years of experience as a Consultant in the NHS. She continues to work mainly in the NHS, co-leading the Maudsley Centre for Child and Adolescent Eating Disorders.
Mima trained in Psychiatry at the Maudsley Hospital and St. George’s Hospital in London.
She is a senior clinician for radically open dialectical behavioural therapy (RO DBT). In addition, Mima is a trainer and supervisor for the Maudsley family and multi-family therapy for eating disorders and cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) for adolescent self-harm.
She has published 70 academic papers and authored 3 books on psychological therapies for eating disorders and self-harm.
Mima has a particular interest and expertise in the treatment of child and adolescent depression, anxiety, eating disorders, perfectionism, low self-esteem, and self-harm.
