After obtaining my basic medical qualification in India, I came to the UK in 2004 to train in psychiatry. I am a member of the royal college of psychiatrists since 2013. In the last 15 plus years, I have worked predominantly in the NHS in Psychiatry and did my post-graduate training in South Wales and qualified as a consultant in psychiatry in 2016. In all these years of working in the NHS, I have worked across adult psychiatry and older people services assessing and treating mental health issues such as Anxiety, Depression. Phobia, adult ADHD, Schizophrenia and also have specific expertise in assessment and diagnosis of dementia.
Being a patient-centred clinician, I have always had excellent feedback from patients in the NHS and the private sector. As a result, I have nurtured and honed my clinical communication skills in both adult and older adult patient groups.
I have attended specific training workshops for adult ADHD organised by the UK Adult ADHD Network ( UKAAN) and keep my knowledge up-to-date by attending relevant courses and seminars throughout the year. In addition, I keep my knowledge up-to-date by attending various conferences across the country and also teach medical students regularly.
My hobbies include listening to music from classic rock, classical and pop genres and also Indian music. I am currently learning two musical instruments violin and the piano.
