Dr Camden studied medicine at University College London, graduating in 2011. He has worked for the NHS since this time, completing his Psychiatry training with South London and the Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust (SLaM). He gained experience in a range of settings including inpatient units, community teams, liaison services, a day service for patients with personality difficulties and a specialist service assessing patients with chronic fatigue and other persistent physical symptoms.
Dr Camden currently works as a substantive Consultant in Liaison Psychiatry for SLaM, leading a multidisciplinary clinical team. In this role Dr Camden assesses and manages patients presenting with a range of difficulties and diagnoses; these include mood disorders, anxiety disorders, personality disorders and medically unexplained symptoms.
Dr Camden has completed training in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy at the Tavistock and Portman NHS Foundation Trust and is accredited with the British Psychoanalytic Council (BPC) to work with individuals and couples. He uses both his Psychotherapy and Psychiatry training and experience to form a holistic understanding of patients’ difficulties and how best to manage these and relieve distress.
