Dr Aquilina is a highly dedicated Consultant Psychiatrist, specialising in the treatment of complex and enduring mental health illnesses. Currently practising within the NHS Hertfordshire Partnership Foundation Trust, she demonstrates exceptional dedication to improving the wellbeing of her patients through comprehensive care within a multidisciplinary team.
Originally from Malta, Dr Aquilina obtained her psychiatry training there before relocating to the UK. She holds membership in the prestigious Royal College of Psychiatrists, possesses GMC specialist registration, and has been granted Section 12 approval and Approved Clinician Status by the Secretary of State.
Dr Aquilina’s credentials include a Diploma in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (Oxford), a Post-Graduate Certificate in Psychology and Neuroscience of Mental Health (King’s College London), and European Union accreditation in the delivery and treatment of rTMS (repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation) in Mental Health (Maastricht University). Her expertise extends to the domains of neuropsychiatry, treatment-resistant OCD, ADHD, electroconvulsive therapy (ECT), and rTMS.
Fluent in three languages—English, Maltese, and Italian—Dr Aquilina ensures effective communication and understanding with patients from diverse backgrounds.
