GMC Number: 6154966

I am a fully qualified, UK-trained Paediatric Consultant with subspecialty training in Community Child Health. My particular passion is ADHD assessment and management.

I studied medicine at the University of Cambridge. After qualifying as a doctor in 2007 one of my first jobs was in the Department of Paediatrics at Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge. Here I worked with the Paediatric Neurology (the brain and nervous system) team as well as gaining experience with the other major specialisms.

I moved to London to continue my training in 2009 and spent time in teaching hospitals throughout North-East and Central London (Barts Health – Newham, Whipps Cross, Royal London; Royal Free; Great Ormond Street Hospital; Queen’s Romford; King George’s Goodmayes) and South London (Evelina London Children’s Hospital).

I completed my post-graduate qualifications in Paediatrics and Child Health through examination gaining MRCPCH – Membership of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health in 2011.

After 6 years in London I settled in Birmingham for higher specialist paediatric training and started work at Consultant level in 2018.

In my current NHS role I run a busy ADHD clinic assessing children aged 5-16 years referred by their GP or school. In addition I work as a Medical Advisor to Birmingham Adoption Service and run a weekly adoption clinic. I also see new patients referred to the child development centre to provide autism assessment as well as a wide array of other general Community Paediatric referrals.

My area of specialist interest is Developmental Paediatrics, including developmental assessment, neurodevelopmental conditions, autism and ADHD.

I was born in Sutton Coldfield and attended Bishop Vesey’s Grammar School. I have always been interested in teaching and co-authored a book during medical school to guide school pupils into university medical education through the BMAT and UKCAT medical entrance exams (available to buy on amazon.co.uk)

I live in Birmingham with my wife, son and daughter.
