Dr Ahmad is an experienced Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist who has worked for more than 25 years as a Consultant in a CAMHS Service in Lancashire, which was rated outstanding by the CQC in 2019. Dr Ahmad has been Clinical Director of this service for 14 years.
He believes in providing a holistic and high-quality service, tailor made to the individual needs of young people and their families.

Specialisation
Dr Ahmad is passionate and a strong advocate for working with young people with neurodiversity. He finds his work both intellectually challenging and rewarding.
Dr Ahmad has a special interest in offering the assessment and treatment of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and other neurodevelopmental disorders.
Dr Ahmad works closely with parents, GPs and schools. He believes that the successful treatment of ADHD can change the trajectory of young people’s lives, with multiple positive outcomes.
He has extensive clinical knowledge and skills in treating young people with ADHD medication. He believes in ‘keeping low and going slow’, and always making sure that the lowest effective dose of medication is being used, and that the young person is being closely monitored.
Dr Ahmad has also been trained in Family Therapy at the Institute of Family Therapy, London. He prefers to work systemically with young people, involving their parents, carers, schools and GPs in the treatment plans.
Dr Ahmad has made presentations on ADHD at Local, Regional, National and International levels.
He has been actively involved in teaching and training medical students, GPs and psychiatry trainees.
