Dr Stuart Whan completed his medical training in Aberdeen in 2002 and completed his psychiatric training in Nottingham in 2011. During his training he gained a wide range of experience across all aspects of mental health. He became a member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists and also gained a Masters in Medical Sciences in Psychiatry.
Since 2011 he has worked as a consultant psychiatrist in New Zealand and the UK, in both hospitals and in the community.
He has worked with patients and their families with a broad range of difficulties. He has a patient-centred style and has a particular interest in how trauma can impact our health, the importance of relationships in our wellbeing and utilising a variety psychotherapeutic approaches to improve our mental health.
