I was graduated in Medicine in 1994 and did practice as a family practitioner for a few years in my birth country. I completed a master’s degree in Neuroscience that is the study of brain and behaviour in the Institute of Psychiatry in London, before I started my career in psychiatry in the NHS twenty years ago. I have worked for Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust during the last four years in the field of liaison psychiatry, being a psychiatrist based at general hospital. Through years I have gained ample experience in different areas of psychiatry including, but not limited to general adult psychiatry, old age, rehabilitation, eating disorder and prenatal (pregnancy) psychiatry.
In addition to having a good working knowledge in use of psychiatric medications and biological psychiatry, I have experience with years of training and supervision in psychodynamic treatment of patients with Anxiety disorder, Depression, Trauma, Emotionally Unstable Personality and self- destructive and impulsive habits also medically unexplained symptoms, particularly have a special interest in Psychodynamic Interpersonal Therapy.
I have learned that majority of the self-destructive and impulsive disorders including self-harm, unhealthy habits and eating, entering and remaining into abusive relations and anger issues may roots in life’s previous traumatic events and how others treated us in our life. I have spent years learning how to address and help patients to reconnect with themselves and start appreciating their real self, that also would require support with use of appropriate medications to alleviate symptoms when needed.
I am a member of the Royal College of psychiatrist and approved under Section 12 of Mental Health Act. I am also registered with General Medial Council as specialist in general adult psychiatry with endorsement in Liaison psychiatry.
