Qualifications: MDip HE Mental Health Nursing, Non Medical Prescriber V300.
I graduated from the University of Chester as a Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMHN) in 2007. Since graduating I have been fortunate to gain a wealth of experience in a variety of areas providing mental health care, predominantly urgent/crisis care.
I obtained my Independent Non-Medical Prescriber qualification in 2021 and I have experience as a prescriber of mental health medication and ADHD medication. My current role is a Clinical Specialist Adult ADHD Nurse/Prescriber within the NHS. My role requires me to manage a caseload of patients, providing safe and effective care. This is a diagnostic and treatment service for individuals with ADHD over the age of sixteen.
I have had a great deal of experience in my career of working with individuals with neurodevelopmental conditions, often managing complex individuals with multiple needs. I advocate for the promotion of choice, ensuring that all individuals are treated with respect, involving them in shared decision making relating to their care needs and obtaining their consent.
My role in Psychiatry UK will be to support the Consultant Psychiatrist and the clients during the initiation and stabilisation of a treatment plan.
