Qualifications: Sc (Hons) Mental Health nursing, RMN, V300 Non medical prescribing certificate.
I qualified as a mental health nurse in 2007 from Queen’s University Belfast. Throughout my career, I have held posts in both inpatient and community settings. I qualified as a Non-Medical Prescriber in 2013. My current NHS role is within the Adult ADHD Service where I will assess, diagnose, treat and review those with ADHD.
I am currently completing a Masters qualification in Advanced Nursing Practice, which has allowed me to develop my skills and knowledge base to practice at an advanced level. I am also carrying out a research project exploring the university experiences of students with ADHD. This has been useful in allowing the opportunity to understand the specific challenges students with ADHD can face and how they can be best supported throughout their academic journey.
I have a keen interest and am enthusiastic about developing ADHD services so that patients can be diagnosed and treated earlier to improve outcomes and provide a positive experience for this patient group.
