NMC Number: 08B0785E

Qualification: RMN & Independent Prescriber.

I am a Mental Health Nurse with over seventeen years’ experience working in the community, adult acute mental health, psychiatric intensive care units and for the last five years in forensic psychiatry in both prisons and secure units.

I qualified as a Registered Mental Health Nurse in 2008 having previously worked in a therapeutic community since 2003. Following registering with the Nursing and Midwifery Council I worked in adult psychiatry before specialising in Psychiatric Intensive Care (PICU) for eight years. During this time, I gained a MSc in Clinical Forensic Psychiatry from Kings College London.

I moved from PICU to manage an inpatient unit within the prison estate and qualified as an Independent Prescriber in 2019.

In 2020 I gained a PGCert in Mental Health Law and became a Consultant Nurse. I specialise in the assessment and management of acute disturbed behaviour and have a particular interest in developing and implementing care plans to reduce risk behaviours which are individualised and evidence base.

I have specialist clinical experience with people who have a diagnosis of ADHD, both as a primary and co-morbid diagnosis to neurodevelopmental diagnoses, personality disorders and mental illness.

I am passionate about helping people achieve their full potential in life and believe that this is possible through assessment, formulation and appropriate therapeutic and pharmacological treatment.
